Health in Buildings Roundtable (HiBR)
WebFirst developed the Health in Buildings Roundtable (HiBR) website. The project is an NIH / Office of Research Facilities initiative to identify and support research that addresses human health and building impacts and to apply the most advanced research to building design, construction, and landscaping in order to assure that human health needs are fully supported.
WebFirst created the information Architecture, using wireframing tools such as UX/Pin and sitemaps using real-time board. From the IA, WebFirst created three design compositions, and worked with the NIH / ORF and the HiBR committee to narrow the selection to one design. After several revision cycles, we finalized the design and themed the site in Drupal. We assisted with the content of the site and setup a membership directory with profiles, a conference page with session schedules for their bi-annual conference and associated research in environmental health and healthy buildings. WebFirst also migrated content from the legacy ASP.NET website into Drupal. We worked closely with the committee to move the site to production - which is expected to launch at the end of February 2018.
The website has already been highly successful in helping to bring together environmental scientists, building experts from government and industry. This site will eventually be enabled to allow for open dialog with the community and foster discussion with the members regarding healthy building best practices. WebFirst provided the project manager, Information Architect, web designer, developer and content strategist to complete the website.
