Compliance with Federal and Industry Standards
As we deliver online experiences for government entities and other organizations, we meet or exceed Section 508 standards that ensure we comply with federal Section 508 law. We also conform to the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and their industry-standard Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2.
Our design and development criteria meet Level AA standards, which means our digital experiences are accessible to most people in most circumstances. We continually partner with our clients to ensure the information, features, and content are accessible to persons with disabilities.
Our Commitment
We recognize the importance of digital accessibility in providing equal access to information and services for all individuals. To meet our commitment to accessibility, we take the following steps:
Designing for the Digital Experience
- We believe that breaking down digital design barriers involves the input of us all – including the people we’re designing for. We encourage people with disabilities to participate in our research and testing, and we prioritize their feedback.
- When approaching design patterns, user flows, and the larger purpose of each digital experience we sketch, our designers consider more than checking surface-level boxes that signal meeting ADA standards. We design to the deepest levels of content and information architecture to ensure outcomes improve equal access and user accessibility.
Development and QA Testing
- We incorporate accessibility into the earliest stages of our development and testing processes.
- Our team is trained in Section 508 standards and WCAG 2.2 guidelines, ensuring best practices are followed to create user-friendly, accessible websites.
- We actively ensure that websites meet the requirements of Section 508, making them accessible to users across government sectors.
Regular Testing & Audits
- We conduct regular accessibility testing throughout the development process using a combination of automated and manual tools.
- The websites we create undergo audits by certified accessibility professionals to check for compliance with Section 508 and WCAG 2.2 AA standards.
Continuous Improvement
- We stay updated on the latest accessibility standards, including changes to Section 508 and WCAG guidelines to continually improve the accessibility of the websites we create.
- Feedback from users is encouraged and valued, helping us identify and address any accessibility issues that may arise.
Support & Maintenance
- Post-launch, we provide ongoing support to ensure that the websites we develop continue to meet Section 508 and WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards as content is updated and technology evolves.
