The general public increasingly uses mobile apps for everything from connecting with friends, to ordering food, or getting health information. It’s important for organizations and federal agencies to understand what the public is looking for in a successful app. One in five millennial app users say they open any app more than 50 times a day, compared to only 2% of baby boomers. The Google Play Store has 1.6 million apps to choose from and Apple iTunes has over 1 million. Over 90 percent of U.S. mobile Internet time is spent in apps. Federal Agencies looking to reach a wider audience and a millennial audience must incorporate mobile in their overall communications strategy. One of the key questions your organization should look at - What type of mobile app best suits your audience while meeting your goals?
We will take a look at how organizations can take advantage of mobile and examine the pros and cons of building:
- Native Mobile Apps
- Hybrid Mobile Apps
- Mobile Responsive
Review a few real world case studies of mobile apps use in the Government and Non-Profit world.
We will end with a LIVE coding example, demonstrating the use of using HTML, CSS and JavaScript to build a Hybrid Mobile app and compile into Android.
